(1) Ceramic type precision casting method
This method can be used when producing steel molds in a single piece or in small batches. The process is: RP prototype as the master mold → dipping ceramic mortar → curing the mold shell in the oven → burning the master mold → preheating the mold shell → burning the steel (iron) cavity → polishing → adding the burning cooling system → Make injection molds for production.
The advantage is that the process equipment is simple, and the obtained mold has excellent copyability and excellent surface finish as well as high dimensional accuracy. Engineering plastics can be gasified at high temperatures with no residue and are suitable for investment in mold making.
(2) Sand casting method
The RP prototype is used as a model to make a sand mold, and then steel is cast to obtain a working portion of the mold. If the performance of the cast steel is greatly improved, various molds can be manufactured by this method, and the mold life is not greatly reduced. The high strength properties of ABS materials make it suitable for making large, solid models.
