As far as the use of automotive plastics is concerned, it is far from being saturated. For example, only plastic bumpers account for about 42% of the total amount of automotive plastics, and the use of plastic front-end frames has only become popular in recent years. There are still no established testing standards in China. Therefore, it can be seen that the goal of diversified development is far from being realized.
At the material category, polypropylene (32%), polyurethane (17%) and polyvinyl chloride (16%) accounted for approximately 66% of the total high-performance plastics in automobiles. There is still room for improvement in the use of new automotive plastics.
